Is Your Business and Personal Life Suffering Because You Haven't Surrounded Yourself with the Right People?

Imagine if you were able to meet with Steve Jobs, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Richard Branson every week. What do you think that would do for your business?

If you are going to be wildly successful, you must surround yourself with other high achievers who will challenge you and give you ideas on how to advance to the next level. Granted we don't have Richard Branson, but that's what our mastermind groups are all about, surrounding you with people who will help you achieve your goals. What Is a Mastermind Group?

Wikipedia defines a mastermind group as a peer-to-peer mentoring concept used to help members solve their problems with input and advice from the other group members. The term was coined in 1925 by author Napoleon Hill in his book The Law of Success and described in more detail in his 1937 book, Think and Grow Rich. 1

The way I like to describe it is that we stick you in a virtual room with a bunch of other smart people every week and you help each other achieve your goals with some guidance from our facilitators.

We also offer private coaching and private networking groups for members, which can be used independently or in conjunction with our Mastermind groups.

What Makes Us Different?

Hi, I'm Don Smith, the guy who started all of this. When I first worked with a marketing specialist on this page, we came up with the title "How Much Money Is Your Business Losing Because You Are Not Part of a Mastermind Group?" When I went to share this with my own Mastermind group, I realized I was embarrassed.

I wasn't embarrassed about the money part. In my opinion, if you are in business providing value to others, you should be making money. In fact, if you really want to expand your reach and help more people, you must make money to pay your people and pay for advertising.

What I was embarrassed about was the fact that the title did not do justice to our mission, which is to help each other grow in our personal and professional lives. Our mission is about more than just making money. It's about helping each other grow in all aspects of our lives including relationships and health so that we may experience the peace and joy that comes from a well-balanced life.

Our groups help small business owners, executives, and professionals increase profits, expand their businesses, and be more productive while at the same time finding balance in their lives.

What Can You Expect from Our Mastermind Groups?

I can't promise that this will change your life, but I do know that this program has already dramatically changed the lives of many who have joined us, including my own.

Our mastermind groups have up to five members and meet weekly or biweekly for an hour over the Internet through Zoom live video meetings or over breakfast. The following scenarios are from actual working sessions from the very first mastermind group that I started. Jeremy, Melody, and I still meet every week over breakfast in Springfield, IL on Tuesday from 6:45-7:45 AM.

Let me take you through the first month that we were together. While each group may change the program over time to fit their needs, this is the default format for every new mastermind group we start.

Week 1: Introductions

The first meeting is always a get to know you session. Members introduce themselves and give a high-level overview of what brought them to the group. We repeat this session whenever a new member joins. Here are some highlights from our first meeting.
  • Jeremy introduced himself as a gym owner and personal trainer. He was looking for ways to grow his business while reducing the insane number of hours he was investing each week.
  • Melody revealed that she is the owner of a charitable organization that helps at-risk families get back on their feet. She wanted to find ways to expand her impact while being able to pay staff and possibly even herself.
  • I shared that I am a general manager of an IT company and am the owner of The Personal Growth Channel. I wanted to grow both businesses to help more people, give more opportunities for employees, and make them more profitable. I've got five children at home, so accomplishing this goal without taking up a lot more of my time is critical.
How will you introduce yourself during your first meeting?

Week 2: Discussing Six Month Goals

During the second session, group members talk about goals that they want to accomplish in the next six months. Here are some highlights from our second session.
  • Jeremy decided that his primary focus was to hire additional people to take some of the load off. The group gave him tips on what he needed to do to pull that off successfully without affecting the level of service he is providing to his clients.
  • Melody had a long list of goals. Upon discussion, she determined that getting a grant writer so that she could get the funding she requires needed to be her top priority as it was the key to achieving all of her other goals.
  • I shared that my goal was to increase profits for The Personal Growth Channel and help more people. Improving profitability for this business would help with my secondary objective, which is purchasing the IT company I'm currently running as general manager. After discussion with the group, I realized that my current pricing was significantly less than the value I was delivering and way under the market value. Not only that, but it is was sending the wrong message at the same time by being so cheap. As one of the participants pointed out, I already offered a free subscription for articles and book recommendations to help those who can't afford it, so the other membership options should be more in line with the value they deliver. I also took away several ideas for focusing my efforts and set an action item to refine the copy on my website.
What goals will you set during your second session, and what feedback might you get?

Week 3 and Beyond

During subsequent weeks, each group member reports on their progress, priorities, any issues, and shares something they've learned that week. Members exchange feedback, and each member walks out with specific action items they will accomplish before the next meeting.

Within a matter of weeks, all three of our group members made significant progress on their goals.
  • Jeremy hired another trainer to scale his business and reduce the amount of time he was spending at the gym. He also took that much-needed break and came back with renewed energy.
  • Melody found a local company at one of her conferences that helped apply for the grants her business required after incorporating some ideas from the group into her presentation.
  • I changed pricing structures and messaging on our website, launched marketing campaigns, and started getting many more sign-ups and better-qualified leads at a much higher price point.
This page and program is a direct result of that very first month with my mastermind group. If you qualify, you too could be talking through your goals with people just like Jeremy, Melody, and myself every week.
