Dating in today's world can be a frustrating experience. You have to shift through profiles, swipe left and right, chat with strangers, and go on dates with people you don't know. Sometimes you find someone who seems perfect for you–until they turn out to be a different kind of man.
You may have just noticed that your date doesn't text back or maybe he showed up late.
Or he might have been rude to the waiter when ordering dinner.
It's hard to know what to do when you're in this situation because there are so many different kinds of men in the world. And, if you don't know which one is your type, it can make dating even more difficult. That's why we created this blog post to help you figure out which kind of man you are dating and what to expect from each one.
Dating different types of men
1. Dating Alpha Male
One type of man you might be dating is an alpha male. Alpha males are confident and make the first move. They know what they want and don't beat around the bush to get it.
Alpha males like to be in control and lead the pack. Alpha males may not always tell you what they're thinking or feeling, but you can bet they're working through their thoughts and feelings quickly in their heads.
The good thing about dating an alpha male is that they know what they want and will do anything to get it, including going after you. Plus, if you take them out on a date, there's a good chance that he'll pay for your meal or drinks. The bad thing is that he doesn't communicate his emotions easily so it's tough to have a meaningful conversation with him.
2. Dating a bully
A bully can come in many different forms—a boss who is constantly putting you down, a guy who is pushing for physical intimacy, or someone who won't stop calling, texting, or commenting on your social media. No matter what form they take, bullies are controlling and manipulative.
When dating a bully, you might find yourself overwhelmed with how to respond because they always want something from you. Their goal is to manipulate you into giving them what they want while trying to get the most out of their time with you. You might be afraid that if you refuse them or stand up for yourself that it will only make the situation worse. The best thing to do when dating a bully is to set boundaries early on and stick with them.
They may be pushy or aggressive right off the bat but continue to assert yourself without being too confrontational. If they get angry, don't show fear; instead, tell them firmly how you feel about their behavior and keep repeating it until they get the point.
3. Dating a cool guy
One type of man you might be dating is the cool guy. Cool guys are confident and easy-going, many of them also have a sense of humor.
What is the best thing about dating a cool guy?
They're not needy or demanding. They accept you for who you are and let you do your own thing.
If you're dating a cool guy, here's what to expect:
Cool guys like to keep things simple and see where the night takes them. He'll probably text back right away and he won't ask too many questions about who you are, what your life is like, or what you want from him. On dates, he'll probably have a fun time but will never overstay his welcome at the restaurant or bar. At the end of the date, he'll walk you to your car or give you a hug goodbye.
4. Dating a Narcissist
If you think your date might be a narcissist, you're not alone. Many people don't realize they're dating a narcissist because they can be so charming and love to brag about themselves. Narcissists are masters at making people believe that they care about them.
But once you get to know someone better, it becomes more obvious that the person is only interested in themselves. They will never ask about your life or show any interest in what you have going on outside of them. Narcissists need to feel important and will often try to one-up everyone else's story with their own accomplishments.
You may also notice that this person doesn't listen well and interrupts conversations when he does speak up. Or he may seem very entitled and demanding, always wanting you to do things for him or buy him things he wants without ever doing anything for you in return.
5. Dating a busy guy
If you're dating a busy guy, get ready to see him on the weekends. He's working hard every day and only has time for you on the weekends.
But how can you make this work?
It may seem like a challenge, but it's actually not that difficult if you know what to expect.
This type of man will:
– Always be talking about his work and anything that is work-related (he'll even text and call about work while he's out with you).
– Feel guilty if he isn't working when he should be.
– Want to do everything in one night when he is free.
As well as being understanding of your needs, be sure to communicate yours clearly too! Show him that his time is just as valuable as yours is. And don't forget to have fun! You don't want him to feel suffocated by your expectations.
But, if this kind of dating experience is something you like, go through this article to find out what it's like to date a busy man and how you can make this work.
6. Dating an emotionally unavailable guy
Many people don't realize that there are different types of men to date. If you're dating someone who is emotionally unavailable, they might not give you the attention you need.
There's often a reason for this type of behavior. Maybe your man doesn't want to get too close because he's scared of getting hurt again or maybe he has trust issues from past relationships.
7. Dating a commitment lover
Though a commitment lover might seem like a good match, they're not. If you're looking for a partner that will commit to you and your relationship, then he is not the one. He's going to have trouble committing to just one person. A commitment lover is always looking for something new and different in his relationships.
If you want someone who wants to build a life with you forever, then he should be avoided.
You deserve better than that, don't you?
Conclusion
When it comes to dating, there are seven types of men. These are the perfect starting point to help you figure out what kind of guy you are dating.
For example, if you are dating an Alpha Male, then you are dating a guy who is confident, ambitious, and competitive. If you are dating a bully, then you are dating a guy who is dark, manipulative, and has a hard time admitting when he is wrong. If you are dating a cool guy, then you are dating a guy who is easygoing and laid-back. If you are dating a Narcissist, then you are dating a guy who is focused on personal achievement and his own needs. If you are dating a busy guy, then you are dating a guy who is always on the go and has little time for anything else. If you are dating an emotionally unavailable guy, then you are dating a guy who has trouble opening up and sharing intimate details with others. And if you are dating a commitment lover, then you are dating a guy who values long-term relationships.
Now that you know what type of man you're dealing with, it will be easier for you to identify their needs and desires. You can even find out what kind of relationship you really want.
