Why Not How

I have published over 10,000 blog posts during my online career.

I wrote and self-published 126 eBooks.

My blog posts and eBooks are quite simple, plain and to the point. I am not insane enough to believe I am creating something ground-breaking, as deluded souls drunk on ego, do. Even if I claim to do this in more deluded moments I know this; there is nothing new under the sun.

Anyway, how did I do this stuff?

I knew why.

I love fun. I love freedom. I love circling the globe. Is relaxing in Fiji for 4 months worth writing a high volume of simple, helpful content? Yes. Is chilling in Bali for 6 months worth writing a high volume of simple, helpful eBooks? Yes.

I did not create the volume of content to pay bills, to punish myself or to keep busy. Lost souls stuck in survival mode trade the precious gift of life to pay bills, to punish themselves and to keep busy. I live to be free. I live to circle the globe. I live to serve. These are the reasons why I do what I do.

But most human beings mess things up. Most humans wish to know how to do something but quit following the steps because they have a poor reason why – or no reason why – they do these things. Humans visualize themselves as robots. Get instructions. Follow steps. Reach goals. Live dreams. But human beings are not robots. Humans are sentient. People have feelings.

Human feelings range from love to fear. Most humans live predominantly from fear. Living from fear guarantees you quit on how to do something even before you take one step, in many cases. People sometimes buy an eBook or course of mine and never touch it; that's fear. Bloggers invest in knowing how to blog but fear in their mind self-sabotages their efforts.

Know Why and Make it Freeing

A few human beings know why they do what they do. Even better? This small group of people tie the reason why to something fun, freeing and fulfilling.

The freedom seekers of the world follow the sometimes highly uncomfortable steps – the how's – to live their dreams because each loves freedom more than they fear leaving their comfort zone. Most folks do not even bother writing one eBook for a tsunami of fears dancing around in their minds. I wrote 126 eBooks. I knew why. I love freedom. Fears danced around in my mind too as I wrote the eBooks. But I faced, felt and released the fears to keep writing the eBooks.

Forget trying to figure out how to do stuff because you never follow the steps unless you follow the steps for fun, freeing, fulfilling reasons. Robots follow steps mindlessly. Humans possess minds dripping with fears objecting to taking action, rejecting self and all but self-sabotaging their best intentions.

Know why. Tie the reason to fun, freeing, fulfilling drivers.

Fall in love with the idea of being free versus being terrified to face fears as you leave your comfort zone.

Figuring out how to do something gets easier if you do it for freedom.

Doing that something gets easier if you do it for freedom.

Fear becomes easier to slay if you see freedom on the other side of fear.
