Patreon does NOT replace what we are already doing which is providing a free home for those interested in personal growth
My good friends,
The last few days, I’ve been trying to get the word out on our new relationship with Patreon. Judging from some of the negative responses I received, it seems that I unnecessarily caused confusion because of my enthusiasm. I wanted to apologize for not communicating this exciting new partnership a little more clearly.
First of all, Patreon is NOT a replacement for what we are already doing which is providing a free home and community for those interested in personal growth. I’m excited that we have so many people engaged in so many different platforms. We are not replacing that! I guess I should have expected the response since I’ve given away all of my work on here for free for the last three years including nearly 200 articles on personal development, and now I’m introducing a paid program.
Patreon is a supplement to what we are already doing. It’s a way for you to give back if I or our community has helped you out, and get some nifty rewards in the process. It’s also a way to fund future projects like a possible integration with discord that I’ve been toying with. Discord is a communications platform typically reserved for gamers that provides a vibrant environment for member discussions, and it’s integrated with Patreon. Unfortunately, things like that require a lot of money and time for development to pull off well, which means we need a way for people to contribute. Free personal development articles are not going to take us to the next level!
You’ll get a lot of extra goodies by joining us on Patreon as well. Here are just a few.
- Behind the scenes clips of what’s coming up (some with my daughter being silly)
- Responsive articles like this one on personal finances where I can go live and answer questions on the fly and even edit the article to reflect answers to questions
- Quarterly Q&A style webinars for our members
- Life coaching for our gold members
My apologies again for the confusion. You can join us on Patreon, or not. In either case, you’ll continue getting what I’ve always given, free advice based on the last 40+ years of my life with more than half of that serving in leadership roles and raising five kids plus guest articles. If you want more than that like peeks behind the scene and the opportunity to contribute to the next evolution of this community, then I encourage you to join us on Patreon by clicking here!
Have an amazing day!
