A little while into the first meeting between Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, Warren pulled out his little black datebook and started flipping through it.  Page after page was practically empty.  “You've gotta keep control of your time,” said Warren, “and you can't unless you say no. You can't let people set your agenda in life.”

Are you being intentional with your time?  Or are you so busy doing what everyone else wants you to do that you feel like you can never get ahead?  When was the last time you took a moment to just sit and reflect on where you want to take your life?

A video titled Coffee with God with Bill Hybels really drove this point home to me.  It is absolutely critical to carve out some time for self-reflection if you are to figure out what your purpose is in this world.

You can watch this awesome talk below.  From my own personal experience, less than 10 minutes of your time viewing this followed by practicing these habits regularly will change your life.

Ever since I viewed this video, I have attempted to carve out a few minutes of my day to have my own “Coffee with God.”  This time of reflection led to creating this website and associated communities and many amazing changes in my personal and professional life.

Resolve to sit down today for 20 minutes and reflect on your life.  Take a notebook with you so that you can write down your ideas.  I don't recommend taking a phone or electronic device; from personal experience, if you do that, the time will magically disappear while you look at the latest funny picture or interesting article that popped up.  Make that a habit each day, and you'll find your life transformed.

I'd love to hear from you if this helped!  Make sure to comment with any ideas you got out of this, follow us, and share this article with others!

Life happens for me. Life never happens to me. Life happening to me suggests I am a victim. Victims lend their precious power of thought-choice to people, situations and circumstances. Handing over this power of thought-choice binds you to these people, situations and circumstances. Literally, since you choose not to let them go, you choose

High school basketball season begins in New Jersey in a few weeks. I have followed one particular high school for decades. Formerly St. Patrick, the current day The Patrick School is one of the top programs in the country. No less than 3 NBA prospects currently play for this *high school* team, including the likely

As a former worry-wort, I had to remind myself that everything was A-OK, frequently. Even if things do not appear to be A-OK – financial issues, domestic breakups, professional setbacks and general worldly loss – never trust appearances because illusions fade but your predominant state of mind remains true.  Imagine your mind co-creating every situation
